October Favorites

Outubro passou a voar. Não nos podemos queixar do tempo que por cá tivemos. Enquanto as primeiras fotografias de chuvas começavam a ser partilhadas nas redes sociais, por cá tivemos muito sol e calor. Foi óptimo para eventos e rotinas do dia-a-dia. Este mês foi também de descobertas e de reencontros, o que é sempre enriquecedor e motivador.

October went by so fast! We can't complain about the weather. While the first rain photos were being posted on social medial, here we had beautiful sunny days with warm temperatures. It was fantastic to have great events and daily errands. October was also a month of discoveries and getting to see a lot of new people again. A great way to gain motivation and felling blessed by everything.

Advent Calendar: Day 1

Chegamos à altura mais Maravilhosa do Ano. Quer dizer, pelo menos já estamos no mês da festa e aqui o tempo também está de acordo com a época. E isso é o que importa!

Para começar esta temporada de modo festivo, o blogue vai apresentar um Calendário do Advento. Cada dia será especial e com ideias e sugestões para o Natal. 

Assim, vamos começar já de seguida por desvendar o primeiro dia do calendário.

"It's the most wonderful time of the year". It's December and even the weather is playing along with the season: it's cold and we even got some snow! (just a little, but still counts)! =) 
So, to begin the festivities, the CuddleDays blog is going to post daily an Advent Calendar.  Each day will be special and I'll post ideas and suggestions for this Christmas.
So without further ado, let's start by unveiling the first day of the calendar.

E já que estamos a falar de calendários do advento, podemos encontrar uma boa oferta destes calendários à venda nos supermercados. Actualmente podemos ter calendários que não sejam só com chocolates, apesar destes serem os originais e serem sempre os melhores =)  Podemos também encontrar calendários com produtos de beleza, livros, vales de descontos, músicas, … E vários sites de Turismo, Economia e Estilo de Vida estão a fazer também Calendários do Advento personalizados.

Domingo foi passado a ver carros clássicos. Além de estar um dia magnifico, e isso podem ver pelas fotos, o ambiente estava fantástico. A organização mais uma vez esteve de parabéns! Foi uma hora bem passada e fez-me feliz!

The beautiful sunny Sunday I went to see a beautiful exhibition of classic cars. The atmosphere was fantastic. They had "models" wearing vintage classic clothes there! Great touch! The organization was once again amazing! It was a very well spent hour and it made me happy!

Day 18 of #100HappyDays

Foi o momento mais alto da semana, sem dúvida! Tantos anos depois, vi pela primeira o vídeo do meu baptizado! É verdade, já andava ;) Foi emocionante rever tantas pessoas e conferir que afinal este dia foi mesmo feliz! No fim, é isto que realmente importa!

It was the high point of the week! No doubt! So many years later, I finally saw the video of my baptism! It was so exciting to see so many people and hearing their voices! Now I know that it was, indeed, a really happy day!!
In the end, that's what really matters!

Day 5 of #100HappyDays

Só comecei a gostar de maquilhagem depois da Universidade. Foi depois de começar a ler blogues e a ver vídeos no youtube que percebi muito sobre as técnicas desta arte. O mais importante, e tendo em conta tudo o que já apreendi sobre a maquilhagem, é uma hidratação diária, beber muita água e comer saudavelmente. Fazendo todos estes paços, a ideia é que a maquilhagem pode ser bem pouca pois a pele vai estar bonita. Agora, e outro pormenor importante, se dormirmos pouco um corrector vai fazer toda a diferença. Mas o que realmente importa é sentir-se bem, e isto todas nós já sabemos.  

Estes produtos que estão na foto são os que uso diariamente de manhã. Ter estes 5 minutos também fazem-me feliz.

I only started using makeup after University. Back then, a simple black eyeliner was enough for me. It was when I started to read blogs and watch youtube videos, that I learned a lot about makeup techniques and how simple it really is. The "secret" to a beautiful skin is to have a daily hydration, drink lots of water and eat healthily food. But, we know that sometimes isn't that simple. If we don't have a good 7-9 hours of sleep, our skin will feel it. A simple concealer will make all the difference. Because, in the end, we all know that the most important is to feel good and confident. 

These products (picture above) are the ones that I daily use in the morning. These five minutes also makes me happy.

I think that it's really nice to learn that makeup is different for every person. Everyone has a different feature on their face that they like to show off. Lauren Conrad

Winter Favorites: Beauty!

Gosto muito do Inverno, por incrível que parece! Sempre gostei mais do frio do que o calor, mas também não gosto de temperaturas de extremos! O que aconteceu nestas duas últimas semanas nos EUA foi impressionante! Não gostava de estar lá nessa altura! Nem quero imaginar o frio! 

Aqui na ilha o tempo é fantástico, realmente! Como hoje: durante o dia as temperaturas podem chegar aos 20 graus com um sol fantástico mas à noite a temperatura desce para os 13 graus! Apesar do frio que se faz sentir, não é tão mau como o resto da Europa e é mais uma das razões pela qual adoro a Madeira! 

Hoje vou vos apresentar os meus favoritos deste Inverno na área da beleza até ao momento! 

I love Winter Season! I always liked the cold more than the heat, but I don't enjoy the extreme temperatures! What happened in the last two weeks in the U.S. was incredible! I don't even want to imagine how cold it was! If you're there, how was this cold week? 

Here on the island the weather is fantastic, really! Like today: daytime temperatures can reach 20 degrees celsius with a fantastic sun. But at night the temperature drops to 13 degrees! Despite the cold that is felt, it's not as bad as the rest of Europe... One more reason why love Madeira!

Popybox Christmas!

Em poucas semanas tive a oportunidade de experimentar duas samples boxes... Por esta não esperava, em tão pouco tempo. Já não é novidade que sempre tive curiosidade receber em casa uma sample box. Há poucas semanas recebi a SkinBox e gostei do que vinha dentro da caixa. Na semana passada a PopyBox enviou um email, já que me tinha inscrito no Verão, a avisar que as encomendas iam ficar disponíveis em poucas horas e era limitado. Não pensei duas vezes e ficou como a minha prenda de Natal. Além de receber em poucos dias, que fiquei muito admirada por esse aspecto, adorei a selecção de miniaturas da Popybox Taking Care! Tenho a certeza que vou usar todos os produtos, apesar de serem novidades para mim. O cheiro do Jimmy Choo: Flash é perfeito para estes dias de Natal e o Eucerin: Dermatoclean veio em boa hora já que o meu adorado Bioderma Solution Micellaire já está a poucas semanas de terminar. 
Gostei muito da apresentação da caixa e dos produtos! Pronto, assim já matei a minha curiosidade das sample boxes e pude até comparar. Não consigo dizer qual das duas gostei mais mas devo de dizer que a velocidade da entrega da caixa da Popybox foi uma grande vantagem. 

In a few weeks I had the opportunity to experience two sample boxes.. Well, I wasn't expecting this in a such short time. You already know that I've always been curious about the idea of a sample box. A few weeks ago I received my first Skinbox and I enjoyed the products. Last week PopyBox sent an email, since I had signed up in the summer, to warn that the orders would be available in a few hours and was limited. I did not think twice and it's was right away my Christmas gift. They were so fast! I got my box in just a few days. I loved the sample selection of Popybox Taking Care! I'm sure I'll use them all, despite being all new to me. The smell of Jimmy Choo: Flash is perfect for these Christmas days and Eucerin: Dermatoclean came at a good time since my beloved Bioderma Solution Micellaire is already a few weeks away to finish .
Okay, so now my curiosity it's over and I can ever compare.. This was a experience I wasn't expecting so soon in Portugal! I'm Happy for that! I can't say which one I liked the most but I must say that the speed of delivery of Popybox box was a big plus.

My first SkinBox!

Já tinha falado anteriormente sobre uma das melhores ideias que já tinha ouvido falar ultimamente sobre os produtos de beleza. Obviamente que estou a falar das "Sample Boxes", onde as empresas escolhem vários produtos que consideram ser de boa qualidade e enviam para a nossa casa por um montante que ronda normalmente entre 10 a 25€. Na altura que vos tinha falado, ainda não havia nenhuma oferta para Portugal até que no mês passado soube da existência que pelo menos três empresas faziam esse serviço em Portugal. A SkinBox foi a que mais me agradou e o preço é bem acessível. Por 10€ + Portes (2.95€ - Portugal Continental e 3.50€ - Ilhas) recebemos a encomenda depois do dia 15 do mês referente da SkinBox. A caixa é bonita e trazia cinco produtos acompanhados com um postal com a identificação de cada amostra de produto de beleza. A grande vantagem de ter uma caixa destas é que podemos experimentar produtos pela primeira vez e se gostarmos podemos comprar sem nos arrependermos. Tendo em conta os preços da maioria destes, compensa dar 10 euros por uma caixa destas, enquanto que se comprarmos só um produto o valor poderá ser facilmente superior. Gostei dos produtos que vieram e como adoro a marca Caudalie fiquei muito feliz pelas escolhas que foram feitas. 

Last year I wrote about one of the best ideas that had heard about beauty products. Obviously, I'm talking about the "Sample Boxes". These sample boxes companies intend to help us choose what is best for us. Besides that, they help to promote brands that are available to offer samples of their products to the market.  Most of them are sent to our house usually from 10 to 25€. At the time I wrote that post, there was still no offer for Portugal. Last month I found out of the existence of at least three companies that made this service in Portugal. The Skinbox was the one that pleased me the most and it's very affordable. For 10€ + Shipping (Portugal- 2.95€ and Islands- 3.50€) you can get the box after the 15th of the month regarding the Skinbox. 
The box is cute and it brought five sample products along with a card that identifies and explains each sample beauty product. The great advantage of purchasing a sample box is that we can discover and try a new beauty product before buying it. I liked this skin box personalized products.I love the Caudalie products, so I was very happy to see three products that I've never tried before.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Outubro é o mês internacional de Prevenção de Cancro da Mama. Segundo a Liga Contra o Cancro, é estimado que na Europa "surjam todos os anos 430 000 novos casos e que uma em cada 10 mulheres venha a desenvolver a doença antes dos 80 anos".  Este mês de Prevenção tem como objectivo aumentar a informação e consciência da doença, angariar fundos para pesquisa, prevenção e cura. O cor-de-rosa é a cor oficial deste mês! Muitas marcas criaram produtos que além de ajudarem no nosso dia-a-dia, parte do preço irá ser doado a instituições desta causa. Uma excelente maneira de ajudar!

Fitness Motivation

Para mim, não há nada melhor do que uma boa música e uma boa hora de exercício para melhorar o espírito. Mas sabemos que há dias em que a vontade é muito pouca. Há quem se inscreva nos ginásios para ter sempre uma "obrigação" em praticar desporto. Há quem tenha um grupo de amigos que se juntam para jogar futebol, ténis, squash (...) e há quem tenha um plano todas as semanas e consegue praticar desporto sem obrigações extras.
As motivações e objectivos de exercício físico variam de pesssoa para pessoa: aspecto físico, questões de saúde, perder peso, fugir ao stress, ... Mas todos sabemos que o essencial aqui é a questão da saúde e por isso é inespensável um bom exercício diariamente, nem que seja uma caminhada de 20 minutos.
Ficam aqui algumas das minhas motivações preferidas. Quais são as vossas?

There's nothing better than great music and some workout to improve our spirit. But we all know that somedays our motivation is none.. Some people sign up for a gym, so they can have an "obligation" to attend and go every week. Some have a group of friends who get together to play football, tennis, squash, ... and some have a plan for every week, where they can have a woekout (run, fitness classes at homes...) without extra obligations, like me.
The motivations and exercise goals can be diferent, from person to person: physical appearance, health issues, lose weight, be stressfree, and so on. But we all know that the key here is health. So a good daily exercise, even if it's just a 20minutes walk, it's always a great idea!
So here are a few of my favorite motivation quotes. What are yours?

The Sample Boxes

Recentemente encontrei um novo método de experimentar produtos de beleza e adorei. Alguma vez pensaram em comprar um produto novo de beleza mas gostavam de experimentar antes de comprar? E se esses produtos viessem ter à vossa casa por correio? E se o que tivessem de pagar era cerca de 15€ por mês? Esta ideia fascinou-me e não é por acaso que grandes bloggers e videobloggers já se renderam a estas "boxes".  Em algumas destas empresas até podemos escolher as samples. O que temos de fazer é uma inscrição de um mês, três meses ou do tempo que quisermos. 

Estas empresas de "sample box" pretendem ajudar-nos a escolher o que é melhor para nós e, claro, ajudar a promover marcas que estão disponíveis a oferecer "samples" dos seus produtos ao mercado. 

O único problema até o momento é que nenhuma das empresas envia para Portugal. Aguardo ansiosamente por esse dia. Espero que assim vos possa ajudar e sinceramente acho que esta é uma das melhores ideias que já ouvi.
