Day 7 of #100HappyDays: TvShows

Aproveitar uma manhã de um feriado para pôr as séries em dia, de certeza que me faz feliz. Hoje, por coincidência, foi um dia para ver séries de comédia e garanto que foi uma manhã muito bem passada. Não tenho nenhuma preferida, pois cada uma destas cumprem com o seu objectivo. Aconselho qualquer uma destas séries para quem quer passar uns agradáveis 20 minutos. 

Watching a few episodes of my favorites tvshows, certainly makes me happy. Today, coincidentally, it was all about comedy. I guarantee that it was a very happy morning. I can't choose which one of the picture above is my favorite: Mindy Project is all about the love life of Mindy Kalling and she is simply fantastic; Baby Daddy has a great cast and the writers sometimes are brilliant!; Mixology is somehow original and gives a new perspective to how we can do a show in just one place and one night; Modern Family is, and I think we can call it, a modern classic; and Trophy Wife is so fresh and hands down to the cast - Bert character has to ben one of my favorites of all time.  
If you want to spend 20 minutes with a great mood, watching some of these shows will make you happy.

P.s- This should've been posted early in the afternoon, but I have to say that today was also a happy day for spending the day with my family and in the evening I watched Benfica winning the Europe League semi-final! :D

Day 6 of #100HappyDays: Wear Sunscreen!

Foi numa aula de Literatura Portuguesa, tinha eu 15 anos, quando vi pela primeira vez o vídeo que falou diretamente comigo: "Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen". Talvez a minha professora, MB, não chegou a ter noção da importância que teve em mostrar este vídeo naquela aula. Ainda hoje agradeço e fico feliz por saber que há professores que usam o seu tempo para mostrar vídeos, que num primeiro olhar nada tem a ver com a matéria, mas que na realidade é o mais importante que podem fazer na vida: ajudar a olhar para o mundo com outros olhos! Tudo o que nos rodeia tem o seu valor. O mínimo detalhe pode fazer a diferença para tornar o nosso dia mais feliz. Ainda hoje vi uma menina a chamar a atenção de um passarinho, mas quando ele assustou-se e fugiu o olhar dela a sentir-se culpada foi impagável.
Sempre que tiverem dúvidas sobre o futuro, este vídeo pode ser uma das soluções! Sejam felizes, "wear sunscreen"!

I was 15 when I first saw this video. It spoke directly to me. It was in high School, in Portuguese Literature class. How could I forget? "Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen." Maybe at the time, my teacher, MB, did imagined how much importat it was to show this video to us, at least to me! I still appreciate it and I'm glad to know that there are teachers who use their time to show these kind of videos/stories (...), which at first glance has nothing to do with the subject's class, but in reality it helps them to do the most important thing they can do for us: showing us how look to the world with different eyes! Everything around us has its values. The smallest detail can make a difference to make our day happier.

If you have doubts about the future or if you want to spend 7 minutes of your time, this video can be one of the solutions! Be happy, "wear sunscreen"!

Day 5 of #100HappyDays

Só comecei a gostar de maquilhagem depois da Universidade. Foi depois de começar a ler blogues e a ver vídeos no youtube que percebi muito sobre as técnicas desta arte. O mais importante, e tendo em conta tudo o que já apreendi sobre a maquilhagem, é uma hidratação diária, beber muita água e comer saudavelmente. Fazendo todos estes paços, a ideia é que a maquilhagem pode ser bem pouca pois a pele vai estar bonita. Agora, e outro pormenor importante, se dormirmos pouco um corrector vai fazer toda a diferença. Mas o que realmente importa é sentir-se bem, e isto todas nós já sabemos.  

Estes produtos que estão na foto são os que uso diariamente de manhã. Ter estes 5 minutos também fazem-me feliz.

I only started using makeup after University. Back then, a simple black eyeliner was enough for me. It was when I started to read blogs and watch youtube videos, that I learned a lot about makeup techniques and how simple it really is. The "secret" to a beautiful skin is to have a daily hydration, drink lots of water and eat healthily food. But, we know that sometimes isn't that simple. If we don't have a good 7-9 hours of sleep, our skin will feel it. A simple concealer will make all the difference. Because, in the end, we all know that the most important is to feel good and confident. 

These products (picture above) are the ones that I daily use in the morning. These five minutes also makes me happy.

I think that it's really nice to learn that makeup is different for every person. Everyone has a different feature on their face that they like to show off. Lauren Conrad

Uma boa salada de queijo fresco num dia de sol, definitivamente fez-me feliz hoje!

A delicious salad was a big plus today! It's was perfect for a sunny day, like today! Definitely made me happy!

Day 3 of #100HappyDays: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Acho que todos nós gostamos do Domingo e a cereja no topo do bolo é ver um bom filme à tarde. Para mim, qualquer dia é bom para ver um filme e se for o The Secret Life of Walter Mitty não há nenhum dia ou hora em particular. É um filme fantástico e sem dúvida que é o que também me faz feliz, um filme que consiga preencher-me e surpreender. 

Quem diria que o Ben Stiller conseguia, e tão bem, realizar um filme de uma forma tão sonhadora e rica em detalhes? E a fotografia, podemos falar sobre isso? As cores e os tons usados no filme são perfeitos e os planos são fantásticos! Afinal, a história levou-me a conhecer a Islândia e a Groenlândia (apesar de não ter sido nada lá filmado, mas ficou a ideia). Para quem não viu televisão em Dezembro, porque o trailer dava a quase cada hora, o filme é baseado no conto de James Thurber e conta a história de Walter Mitty (Stiller), um sonhador nato, daqueles que para de ouvir o que o outro diz e começa a imaginar cenários (quem já não fez isto?), e que tem a missão importante de encontrar a perdida fotografia n25 para ser publicada na última edição em papel da histórica revista Life. Esta responsabilidade faz com que deixe de "sonhar acordado" para realmente fazer coisas que nunca tinha imaginado fazer. Ben Stiller cumpriu com o seu objectivo e está de parabéns! Fiquei surpreendida com tudo. Menos com a barba do Adam Scoot, mas isso já são outras conversas. 

É sem dúvida um filme que me faz feliz! Desde a história, à realização e à banda-sonora. Posso dizer que estou viciada em Dirty Paws de Monsters & Men, que pensei que fosse de Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, talvez até é por isso que gosto tanto. Aconselho a ouvirem!

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty entrou facilmente na minha lista do top20, porque quando um filme consegue equilibrar fantasticamente a história dramática com a comédia, com uma realização que prestigia toda a sua arte, principalmente a fotografia! Walter Mitty mostra que é possível deixarmos de imaginar o mundo se saírmos  do nosso conforto e ver o quão rica pode ser a nossa vida se realmente vivermos. 

I think we all agree that Sunday is one of our favorite days and the icing on the cake is to watch a good movie in the afternoon. For me,  any day is good to watch a movie and if it's The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, there is no particular time or day whatsoever. It's a fantastic movie and no doubt that this is also what makes me happy: watching a movie that can fulfill and amaze me.

Who knew Ben Stiller could direct a movie so rich in details? And the cinematography, can we talk about that? Just breathtaking! The colors and prespectives used in the movie are just perfect! After all, the story took me to Iceland and Greenland (despite all Greenland scenes were shot in Iceland, but we got the idea ) and showed me beautiful landscapes from the mountaintops of ungoverned Afghanistan. 

For those who didn't watched tv last December, because the trailer was playing each hour, the film is based on the short story by James Thurber and tells the story of Walter Mitty (Stiller), a day-dreamer, who stops listening to what others are saying to start imagining scenarios full of heroic and romantic actions. Now, that  the historic Life Magazine is going on-line, he has the important task to find the lost photograph nr 25, to be published as the cover of the last paper edition. This responsibility makes him to stop " daydreaming " to actually do things he had never imagined doing before. 

Ben Stiller delivers the perfect story in such a perfect way! I was marveled with everything, well, not as much as with Adam Scoots' beard, but that's an other conversation.

It is certainly a movie that makes me happy ! From the story, the achievement and to the soundtrack; I can say I'm addicted to Dirty Paws by Monsters & Men. I actually thought it was by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, maybe that's why I like so much. You should try to have a listen!

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty easily entered my top 20 list, because the movie manages to fantastically balance the dramatic story with comedy, having a director that honors the art, especially photography! Walter Mitty shows that it is possible to stop day-dreaming and imagining the world, as soon as we leave our comfort zone and see how rich our life can be.

Day 2 of #100HappyDays

Não há nada melhor do que passar boas horas com a companhia da família e amigos num sábado primaveril. Na Madeira, se esse momento for acompanhado com uma poncha, ainda melhor! 

There is nothing better than spend a saturday day with family and friends. In Madeira, if we drink a Poncha (the regional drink), that moment will be even better!

Day 1 of #100HappyDays: Liberdade!

Liberdade! Sem dúvida que a liberdade faz-me feliz! O facto de poder falar, vestir, pensar, escrever com toda a liberdade, é sem dúvida uma grande felicidade! 
O cravo é a flor que foi usada no dia 25 de Abril de 1974  durante a revolução em Portugal (Revolução dos Cravos). 
Hoje, tal como em qualquer dia, é importante valorizar por viver num país democrático e por poder escolher aquilo que quero ser e fazer.

Freedom! No doubt that freedom makes me happy! Being able to talk, dress, think, write in complete freedom, is undoubtedly a great happiness! 
The carnation flower was used in April 25, 1974 instead of bullets, during the revolution in Portugal (Carnation Revolution). 
Today, like any day, is important to value the fact that we live in a democratic country and that we are able to choose what we want to be and do.

100 Happy Days!

Será que é possível sermos felizes durante 100 dias seguidos? Esta é a pergunta que o projecto "100HappyDays" faz! Provavelmente a resposta de todos será "sim, é possível" mas nem todos os minutos do dia são passados com o mesmo sentimento! Mas a verdade, e isto todos nós sabemos, nem que seja bem lá no fundo, que depende de nós se queremos continuar a ser felizes ou não. Este projecto é uma "desculpa" ideal para estarmos atentos a todos os detalhes da nossa vida, nem que seja só para cumprir com as "regras". Penso que inconscientemente, vamos continuar a procurar tudo aquilo que nos rodeia diariamente que nos faz feliz. Quem aceitou o desafio do "100HappyDays", afirma que começa os dias com melhor humor, recebe mais elogios de outras pessoas, reconhece o quão sortudo é pela vida que tem, e afirma ainda que tornou-se mais optimista.
Assim, vou desafiar-me a cumprir com os "100HappyDays" e vou usar blogue Cuddle|Days e a página do Facebook para publicar durante os 100 dias:

100 dias! 100 momentos de felicidade! 100 posts! 

Can you be happy for 100 days in a row? This is the main question of "100HappyDays" project! Probably the answer is "yes, it's possible but not every minute of the day are spent with the same feeling." At least I answered that. But we all know, even if deep down, it really just depends on us whether we want to continue to be happy or not. 
This project is an ideal way to be focus on every detail of our lives. The idea to find beauty and happiness around us everyday, even if for 100 days, is a perfect excuse to find what makes you happy. I think, that subconsciously, we'll continue to look for happy moments everyday after the challenge.
Who accepted the challenge of "100HappyDays", claims that they are in a better mood everyday, receives more compliments from others, realize how lucky they are to have the life they have and also claims that has become more optimistic.  
Therefore, I'll challenge myself to complete the "100HappyDays". I've seen my cousin B doing it and I loved the idea and what she posted on those 100 days. I'll use Cuddle|Days and Facebook page to post everyday. 

100 days! 100 moments of happiness! 100 posts!

Home Decor: Bedroom

Finalmente consegui mudar a decoração do meu quarto. Com a ajuda das aplicações Pinterest e Houzz, consegui ter a inspiração! A cor da parede foi um cinza e a decoração ficou entre o branco, o creme e o prateado. Com uns apontamentos de cor verde e fuchia consegui tornar o quarto muito "casual chic" e simplesmente adoro! Ainda faltam alguns pormenores, mas realmente o mais complicado já está. 
Não é difícil mudar a decoração na nossa casa! Muitas vezes (aqui em casa é quase sempre) é só reutilizar e repintar o que já temos. A mobília é só trata-la, lixar e pintar da cor que queremos. As paredes são fáceis, a não ser que precisem de uma reparação simples devido a infiltrações ou humidade. Mas com a ajuda de vídeos e de livros sobre construção/pintura, vão ver que é fácil e prático. Agora que está aí a chegar a primavera, é uma boa altura para rever a decoração da casa. Afinal, mudar um pouco o nosso ambiente envolvente faz bem. 

Finally, I changed my bedroom decor. With the help of Pinterest  and Houzz, I got all the inspiration I needed! The wall color is grey and the main decoration colors stays between white, cream and silver. To give a great mood, I added green and fuchsia objects to the decor. Altogether created the "casual-chic" look I was looking for and I simply love it! There are still some details to do, but I the worst part is done.
It's not difficult to change the decor! Often, and here at home is almost always, we just have to repaint and reuse what we already have. You can repaint your furniture and the walls are easy too, unless you need a simple repair due to leakages or moist problems. But with the help of videos and books, you'll see that it is easy and practical.
Now that Spring is around de corner, it's a good time to review your home decor. After all, to change a bit our home environment is always a good idea.
