Popybox Christmas!

Em poucas semanas tive a oportunidade de experimentar duas samples boxes... Por esta não esperava, em tão pouco tempo. Já não é novidade que sempre tive curiosidade receber em casa uma sample box. Há poucas semanas recebi a SkinBox e gostei do que vinha dentro da caixa. Na semana passada a PopyBox enviou um email, já que me tinha inscrito no Verão, a avisar que as encomendas iam ficar disponíveis em poucas horas e era limitado. Não pensei duas vezes e ficou como a minha prenda de Natal. Além de receber em poucos dias, que fiquei muito admirada por esse aspecto, adorei a selecção de miniaturas da Popybox Taking Care! Tenho a certeza que vou usar todos os produtos, apesar de serem novidades para mim. O cheiro do Jimmy Choo: Flash é perfeito para estes dias de Natal e o Eucerin: Dermatoclean veio em boa hora já que o meu adorado Bioderma Solution Micellaire já está a poucas semanas de terminar. 
Gostei muito da apresentação da caixa e dos produtos! Pronto, assim já matei a minha curiosidade das sample boxes e pude até comparar. Não consigo dizer qual das duas gostei mais mas devo de dizer que a velocidade da entrega da caixa da Popybox foi uma grande vantagem. 

In a few weeks I had the opportunity to experience two sample boxes.. Well, I wasn't expecting this in a such short time. You already know that I've always been curious about the idea of a sample box. A few weeks ago I received my first Skinbox and I enjoyed the products. Last week PopyBox sent an email, since I had signed up in the summer, to warn that the orders would be available in a few hours and was limited. I did not think twice and it's was right away my Christmas gift. They were so fast! I got my box in just a few days. I loved the sample selection of Popybox Taking Care! I'm sure I'll use them all, despite being all new to me. The smell of Jimmy Choo: Flash is perfect for these Christmas days and Eucerin: Dermatoclean came at a good time since my beloved Bioderma Solution Micellaire is already a few weeks away to finish .
Okay, so now my curiosity it's over and I can ever compare.. This was a experience I wasn't expecting so soon in Portugal! I'm Happy for that! I can't say which one I liked the most but I must say that the speed of delivery of Popybox box was a big plus.

Christmas: Red Dresses

Estas próximas semanas é normal as agendas ficarem preenchidas com eventos de Natal, ora são lanches, ora são jantares ou simplesmente uma saída à noite. Durante todo o ano as mulheres preocupam-se com a sua imagem mas no Natal é normal dar ainda mais atenção ao que vestimos. Tudo tem mais charme e elegância. Cá na ilha nota-se perfeitamente esse cuidado durante estas semanas. Isto não quer dizer que temos de comprar o vestido mais caro e ir ao cabeleireiro todos os dias! É só vermos o que temos no nosso vestuário e usarmos com o espírito natalício! Throughout the year women are concerned about their image but at Christmas it is normal to pay even more attention to what we wear. Everything has more charm and elegance. Here, on the island, we can totally notice that. This doesn't mean that we have to buy the most expensive dress and go to the hairdresser every day! You just have to see what do you have in your wardrobe and use it with a Christmas spirit ;) ! Birthday Decor!

O tema do meu aniversário foi o Tifanny & Co. e já vos tinha falado sobre as ideias que tinha encontrado. Fiquei muito feliz com o resultado final e poder partilhar com os meus amigos foi ainda melhor! Foi muito simples de se fazer, encomendei com antecedência os macarons, pasteis de nata e o bolo enquanto que o resto foi feito cá em casa. Reaproveitei muito do que já tinha em casa e para pôr as velas não há melhor do que reutilizar os copos de vidro de iogurtes ou salsichas ;) Fica aqui alguns detalhes do dia! Espero que gostem e também este tema pode servir de inspiração para um jantar durante esta época de Natal! Mais uma vez obrigada a todos que fizeram parte do meu dia! Beijinho

As I posted a few weeks ago, the theme of my birthday party was Tiffany & Co.. I was very happy with the final result and to be able to share it with my friends was even better! It was very simple to do. I ordered in advance the macarons, the "Pasteis de Natal" and the Birthday Cake, while the rest was made at home. I love to use most of the things that I've already at home, like candles! There's no better way than reusing the glass cups of yogurts or sausages to put candles or even flowers ;)

Hello December!!

E finalmente o melhor mês do ano chegou: Dezembro! Aquele mês em que tudo fica mais bonito! É o mês das festas, da família e dos amigos! É também quando acordamos às cinco da manhã para ir às missas do parto e não sentir-se mal por comer uma sandes de Carne de Vinho e Alhos com poncha antes das 8 da manhã! É quando voltamos a escrever postais para enviar para os que estão longe. É aquela semana que há jantares todos os dias nas casas de família e amigos! É a árvore de natal e a decoração da casa! É o frio, a manta e os filmes da época! É a procura do presente ideal para dar! É andar na rua bem devagar e desfrutar das luzes e decorações da cidade. É o fim-do-ano e toda a sua magia! É Dezembro.

Finally, the best month of the year has arrived: December! That month in which everything is more beautiful! It's the month of holidays, family and friends! It is also when we wake up at 5am to go to church "Missas do Parto" and not feeling bad about eating a Sandwish of "Carne de Vinho e Alhos" (Meat in wine and garlic), and Poncha before 8am! It's when we write postcards to send to those who are far away. It is the long family dinners and night out with friends! It's the Christmas tree and home decor! It's the cold weather, the blankets, and movies! It's the search for the ideal gift to give! It's that time of the year that we walk slowly down the street and enjoy the lights and decorations of our city. It's the New Year's Eve and all its magic! It is December.

My first SkinBox!

Já tinha falado anteriormente sobre uma das melhores ideias que já tinha ouvido falar ultimamente sobre os produtos de beleza. Obviamente que estou a falar das "Sample Boxes", onde as empresas escolhem vários produtos que consideram ser de boa qualidade e enviam para a nossa casa por um montante que ronda normalmente entre 10 a 25€. Na altura que vos tinha falado, ainda não havia nenhuma oferta para Portugal até que no mês passado soube da existência que pelo menos três empresas faziam esse serviço em Portugal. A SkinBox foi a que mais me agradou e o preço é bem acessível. Por 10€ + Portes (2.95€ - Portugal Continental e 3.50€ - Ilhas) recebemos a encomenda depois do dia 15 do mês referente da SkinBox. A caixa é bonita e trazia cinco produtos acompanhados com um postal com a identificação de cada amostra de produto de beleza. A grande vantagem de ter uma caixa destas é que podemos experimentar produtos pela primeira vez e se gostarmos podemos comprar sem nos arrependermos. Tendo em conta os preços da maioria destes, compensa dar 10 euros por uma caixa destas, enquanto que se comprarmos só um produto o valor poderá ser facilmente superior. Gostei dos produtos que vieram e como adoro a marca Caudalie fiquei muito feliz pelas escolhas que foram feitas. 

Last year I wrote about one of the best ideas that had heard about beauty products. Obviously, I'm talking about the "Sample Boxes". These sample boxes companies intend to help us choose what is best for us. Besides that, they help to promote brands that are available to offer samples of their products to the market.  Most of them are sent to our house usually from 10 to 25€. At the time I wrote that post, there was still no offer for Portugal. Last month I found out of the existence of at least three companies that made this service in Portugal. The Skinbox was the one that pleased me the most and it's very affordable. For 10€ + Shipping (Portugal- 2.95€ and Islands- 3.50€) you can get the box after the 15th of the month regarding the Skinbox. 
The box is cute and it brought five sample products along with a card that identifies and explains each sample beauty product. The great advantage of purchasing a sample box is that we can discover and try a new beauty product before buying it. I liked this skin box personalized products.I love the Caudalie products, so I was very happy to see three products that I've never tried before.

Inspiration for Birthday Party!

Este ano decidi fazer uma simples festa com os amigos mais chegados. Afinal, eu adorava fazer grandes festas de aniversário quando era mais pequena. Devia de vir quase a turma toda da escola. Era uma loucura, desde muita alegria até brigas sem sentido nenhum. Mas acho que é essa a piada das festas quando somos mais novos. Ficam as histórias para contar! 
Este ano vai ser bem diferente e o tema já está escolhido: Tiffany & Co. Além do charme da marca e toda a sua envolvente, a cor é linda! 

This year I've decided to celebrate my birthday with a simple party with close friends. After all, I've always loved to host large birthday parties when I was a kid. Probably everyone of my class were invited once. It was crazy, from pure laughs to little fights without any sense at all. But I think that is the fun of kids parties. And there are always stories to be told about those parties that you never forget.

This year will be quite different and the theme is already chosen: Tiffany & Co. In addition to the charm of the brand and all its fantastic jewels, the color is just simply beautiful!

Baltic Trip: Trakai Castle

Wow! Não tenho outra expressão para usar logo que penso no Castelo de Trakai! Simplesmente lindo!  A antiga capital do Gran Duque da Lituânia fica situada em Trakai, na Lituânia numa ilha do Lago Galvé. A construção do castelo em pedra começou a ser feita no início do séc. XIV.  A sua história incluí várias destruições e recuperações e podem ler mais sobre a sua importância aqui. O tempo estava digno do resort, muito sol e calor. Foi aqui que mais vimos turistas e o ambiente é maravilhoso. Pequenas lojas com produtos artesanais e turísticos, restaurantes à beira do lago e diversas ofertas para passear no lago. É simplesmente um destino obrigatório! Além da visita ao castelo que está muito bem organizada, com salas com boas exposições sobre a história do "Little Marienburg", que conseguimos imaginar perfeitamente como se vivia naquela época, aconselho a comerem no restaurante As Klubas! A comida aqui é deliciosa e a vista é deslumbrante! 

Wow! I have no other words to use as soon as I think of Trakai Castle! It's simply divine! The ancient capital of the Grand Duke of Lithuania is located in Trakai, Lithuania, on an island of Lake Galve. The construction of the stone castle began at the beginning of the XIV century. Its history includes several destructions and reconstructions. You can read more about its importance here. The weather was perfect as the resort, plenty of sunshine and beauty. You can meet a lot of tourists here, and actually it was the first time that we heard portuguese while we were in the baltic. 
The atmosphere is wonderful. Small crafts and souveniers shops, lakeside restaurants and a range for touring the lake. It is simply a must see destination! Besides visiting the castle museum, which is very well organized, with rooms with great exhibits about the history of "Little Marienburg", I advise you to eat at the restaurant As Klubas! The food here is delicious and the view is breathtaking!

Guest Post: Menswear Essential: Fall/Winter season 2013

O Outono já chegou e o Inverno está quase aí! Como já tinha referido em posts anteriores, esta é a altura de fazer algumas mudanças no nosso guarda-roupa.Principalmente cá na ilha, que nesta última semana voltamos a ter dias de Verão! Pode chegar a ser confuso ainda, mas as noites são cada vez mais frescas. Hoje convidei um grande amigo, o Sandro T.,  para ajudar-me a escolher o melhor da moda masculina para esta estação. Afinal já está quase na hora de fazer orçamentos para as próximas festividades! E, falo por mim, prefiro os relógios masculinos aos femininos por isso nem tudo o que ele fantasticamente escolheu tem de ser obrigatoriamente para os rapazes ;)

Fall has arrived and winter is coming! As I already mentioned in previous posts, this weeks are the perfect time to make some changes in our closet. Specially here on the island, where we had great Summer days! It can be a little bit confusing, but the nights are getting cooler.. So today I invited a good friend, Sandro T., to help me choose the "Menswear  essential" for this season. After all, it's almost time to make budgets for the upcoming festivities! And, speaking for myself, I prefer the male watches rather than the female ones, so all that he has fantastically chosen, aren't only mandatory for boys;)
